4 prosperous pillars kick-start your home business

Jim_SamsonWhether you already have a home business or not, these 4 prosperous pillars will kick-start any existing or future business ideas into overdrive.

Without these pillars, it’s impossible to succeed—using only 3 of them will even leave you short.

But that’s why I’m presenting you with all 4 pillars, so you can simply apply them to your business and watch your empire prosper right in front of you.

Like anything in life, it’s important to have a strong foundation, but it’s not always easy to know what that foundation should consist of.

That’s why I want to make it as simple as possible for you to use these 4 prosperous pillars in order to kick-start your business.

1st Pillar – Need

Whether you’re selling a product or a service, the only way you’ll be able to keep your business afloat is by finding out if there is need for it.

This could come in a few different forms.

Maybe the service or product you’re offering already exists elsewhere, but there’s a strong need for it in a specific location. Maybe that location had the product/service but then the old business failed because their other 3 pillars weren’t sturdy.

It could be an innovational product/service that people don’t quite yet know that they need, but your numbers prove they will.

Or maybe you invest in strong marketing and you’re able to convince people that they need your product/service.

In any circumstance, there must be a consumer need for your product/service in order for it to prosper.

2nd Pillar – Experience

Any strong business is built on experience, but don’t be scared away by this pillar, you can always find any experience that you lack.

First you need to fully understand where your experience lies. What are you used to dealing with? Are you good with numbers? Is there a certain type of product you always buy, but could possibly improve?

Experience comes in many forms. A more general form of experience is handling people—or your potential customers. Just because you may have never had a customer before, doesn’t mean you lack customer service skills.

Customer service skills is a fancy way of saying people skills. Chances are, you’ve been dealing with people your whole life—customers are no different.

As I mentioned earlier, if you lack the experience, borrow it.

You can hire people to take care of the tasks that you aren’t familiar with, as long as they’re within your budget.

3rd Pillar – Resources

In a sense this could tie in with the borrowing of experience, but it’s a little more perennial than that.

Having the right resources entails building your best possible team. It could be you and one other person as long as you both cover all the resources needed for your product/service.

The most successful business people are the first to admit that they can’t do everything on their own. They all have a team of professionals, and they all participate in other peoples’ teams if necessary.

We all want the same thing: success—so, why not help each other get there?

4th Pillar – Business Model

The term “business model” often scares people from venturing into the realm of entrepreneurialism, but it’s really not that complicated.

If you have a product/service in mind, and you’ve set yourself some realistic goals, then you already have the rough draft of your business model. You just need to put it down on paper.

A business model is basically your 5-10 year plan for your business. What goals will you accomplish in that time? How much do you expect to do in sales? What new products/services do you plan to introduce? How many employees do you expect to hire?

Your business model can never be too long as long as everything involved is pertinent to your business operations.

All four pillars are equally as important as each other, and if even one of them isn’t functioning properly, your business will start to crumble.

But if you place as much focus on each of these 4 pillars as you possibly can, you’ll soon be able to kick-start your business into a prosperous empire.
