Your 2nd Act: A paycheck with purpose

Jim_SamsonI tried retiring once. That may come as a shock to some of you, but it’s absolutely true. I had made plenty of money, I had everything I needed, and I was ready to spend day after day doing nothing on my boat.

It lasted 1 week…

You see, many of us aren’t programmed to do nothing. We’re always striving to better ourselves and accomplish more.

Well, now it’s time to have the best of ALL worlds. Here’s how YOU are going to start your second act, do what you want to do, and get your paycheck with a purpose…

The traditional idea of retirement – in which you stop working in your 60s and fade away into the sunset – is quickly falling by the wayside.

The Baby Boomers nearing retirement age don’t intend to do nothing in their 2nd act. Instead, they’re hoping to make the 2nd half of life even more fulfilling than the first!

The problem is that most of them have no idea how to do so…

But YOU will be able to when you know how to get your paycheck with a purpose in your ‘unretirement’!

Sadly, many people never realize that they have the option to stray from the path they’ve been on. And it’s virtually never too late to do so…

Yet I’m sure you have friends or family members who trap themselves by thinking they have to continue on with the career they chose no matter what because that’s the only way to get to retirement.

WRONG.

There’s a new path to take, a new way to experience a better life, and a new act waiting for you to begin…

And the answer for you could be nonprofit work.

Again, there’s a misconception to overcome. Most people think that working for a nonprofit organization must be on a volunteer basis with no pay. And while there are plenty of volunteers working for these organizations, a proper, dedicated nonprofit job can easily give you the paycheck with purpose you desire!

So let’s say you’re 59 years old and you’ve been working a job that’s difficult on your body for the past 30+ years. Here are your options:

Option 1: You can continue working the same job for the next 8 or so years, and then enter retirement without a fulfilling career but a worn down body.

OR,

Option 2: You can start your 2nd act of unretirment by relieving your body of the hard work you’ve been doing, starting a fulfilling 2nd career in nonprofit work that you’re passionate about, and look forward to the next half of life as something brand new!

It’s all up to you…
