28 Days…

Why do people brush February aside?

It’s like they want to rush through it because it’s the runt of the year – only 28 days (unless a leap year).

I look at those 28 days as a perfect 4 weeks to turn things around.

I can accomplish 1 big thing each week for 4 weeks and then head into March on the front foot.

How do you view February?… Because there’s only a week left, and you can still SUCCEED.

Here’s how…

First let me preface this all with an interesting thought I read the other day:

“We expect too much from January and not enough from February”

I don’t know about you, but that really rang true with how I’ve lived all my Januarys and Februarys.

We put all this pressure on January with resolutions and expectations and then February falls flat.

We brush it aside because it’s a short month.

But that line of thinking is WRONG.

February is actually a good month to close the gap between what we are and what we want to be.

And we can do that with a very simple process.

Have you ever heard the expression turning mountains into molehills?

That metaphor is basically saying take a big task and break it down into little ones.

And February’s 28 days is perfect for that.

You can do something small every day, 7 days a week, and by the end of it, you’ll have 4 perfectly even weeks of a success mountain towering over you.

I know you might be thinking, but can’t I just do that with any old 30- or 31-day month?

Of course you can, but breaking this psychological barrier that February is an unproductive month will help you be WAY more productive in the months that follow.

So, what about the fact that we’re already 21 days into February?

Well, that means two things:

  1. Save this article for next year (but also try to apply this thinking to March, April, and beyond)
  2. You have 7 days of productivity left!

It’s time to get moving!
