5 secrets to maximizing every single day

Sean BowerBe honest with yourself – are you consistently making the most of every day? When you lay down in bed at night, do you feel accomplished? Wouldn’t you rather be more productive and more fulfilled every single day of your life?

First of all, just know that the vast majority of people aren’t even coming close to getting the most out of each day. You’re certainly not alone.

But you’ll be amazed at how much your life will change for the better when you use these 5 secrets to maximizing each and every day…

1. Look good, feel good

A piece of advice I’m glad I received as a young man is, “Dress as though you’re about to meet the love of your life every single day.”

Cater this to yourself however you’d like, but the sentiment is the same. When you dress yourself well, you feel better about yourself and that self-confidence will make you more productive. Plus, you’ll be happier and more comfortable in general.

2. Put more in to get more out

Whether it’s your job, your hobby, or a project you’re working on, investing yourself into it a little bit more than normal can go a long way. Now, I know that sounds like some rubbish you might hear at a bogus self-help seminar, but I’ve experienced this myself.

And it will maximize what you get out of each day in a couple of ways. First, people will absolutely notice, and you’ll likely be rewarded for that extra effort along the way. Second, doing a bit more and attempting to get more creative each day will simply make you feel better about yourself.

3. Make the decision to be positive

This is something that takes many people (including myself) some time to truly bring yourself around to. But I’ve learned that you can absolutely make the decision each morning on whether or not you’re going to be happy and positive.

Start training yourself to get in the right frame of mind when you wake up. Make yourself physically smile (As someone who is NOT a morning person, I understand this may seem ridiculous, but try it anyway). Then make your bed. For whatever reason, taking a few minutes to get organized will help you jumpstart your day and feel better.

The most important part of this is not allowing yourself to dwell on the negatives.

4. “Me” time

Maximizing your day doesn’t mean trying to be productive and accomplishing tasks 100% of the time. Far from it, actually. Part of this process should be taking some time for yourself each day.

Do something you enjoy. Read a few chapters out of a book. Watch an episode of your favorite show. Go for a walk with your pet. Anything for YOU.

Life should be about enjoying your days, and this is a big part of that. And as a bonus, you’ll know that you have something to look forward to each day.

5. Schedule out your week

One thing to note is that most days are NOT going to go exactly as planned. Be ready for that, and don’t let the inevitable tangents disrupt your positivity.

But having a plan to begin with is important. Organization leads to productivity, and productivity leads to a feeling of accomplishment. That’s how you’re going to feel great about maximizing each day.

Schedule appointments, calls, errands, etc. and stick to it. That way you won’t keep putting off that trip to the DMV. You’ll just end up dreading it all week instead of taking care of it at once and then feeling great about it being behind you.

Implement these 5 secrets of maximizing each day and see how good you feel!
