Today, we set aside time for love on Valentine’s Day.
But that doesn’t mean your quest for wealth should take a day off.
After you’ve made your sweetheart happy with flowers and a card, you should set some time aside to hear me debunk a common saying.
You may have heard people spout the following:
The Bible says “Money is the root of evil…”
That saying is misquoted very often.
And in keeping with the theme of today, you might be surprised to know that love is actually the missing piece of this misquote…
Money, money, money.
Sure, there’s a lot of evil associated with it.
There’s a lot of evil that can be done when money falls into the wrong hands. But there’s also a lot of good that can be done–you just hear more about the bad than the good.
I think the quote, “Money is the root of evil…” is misquoted on purpose.
The Evil Side of money wants ALL of it… or as much of it as they can get.
And that means they want YOU to have none of it.
That’s why (I think) that misquote is thrown around so liberally.
The actual quote from The Bible is: “For Love of Money is the root of all evil.”
Can you now see how love is the villain of this conversation we’re having on this loving day?
What this quote is actually saying is that the people who become obsessed with money are generally the evil beings.
If you fall in love with money, you are succumbing to the root of evil.
So, money itself is not in fact the root of evil.
Money can be used for both good and evil.
It’s the hands it falls into that makes all the difference.
So, don’t let this misquotation steer you in the wrong direction–away from attracting wealth.
Keep on your journey to fortunes, and you’ll see the good you can do when you accumulate the wealth you do deserve.
And again, keep the real quote in mind:
For the LOVE of money is the root of evil.
