Where would you be in life if you unlocked optimal productivity years ago?
Productivity is an often-undervalued skill, but it’s one that ALL entrepreneurs would put at the top of their keys to success.
Learning how to unlock your peak productivity not only helps you reach your professional goals, but it can also greatly improve your personal life in many ways.
Here’s how to do it in 5 easy steps…
Easy Productivity Step 1: Delete the word “Multitasking” from your vocabulary
In our fast-paced world, we’ve somehow become obsessed with doing several things at once. We think we’re getting more done, but it only hinders our productivity.
Instead of transitioning from task to task and sharing your focus between objectives, focus on one thing, get it done, and then move on to the next thing. You’ll start checking things off the to-do list faster than ever.
Easy Productivity Step 2: Force Yourself to Take Breaks
The only issue with real productivity is that it can be taxing. You need to take breaks from time to time to recharge, refocus, and approach each task at full strength.
Get away from the task at hand by reading, playing a game, etc. for a few minutes, and you’ll be surprised at how ready and willing you are to complete your objective when you return to it.
Easy Productivity Step 3: Minimize Meetings
Meetings may feel productive, but they are usually a waste of time. Sure, you can have meaningful meetings where strategizing, staying updated on others’ work, and coordinating can happen, but that can happen in a short amount of time.
Keep meetings concise and on point because the real work gets done outside of meetings.
Easy Productivity Step 4: Delegate, Delegate, Delegate!
This can be difficult for the perfectionists out there, but delegating exponentially increases productivity. Delegate everything you can so you can focus on the most important tasks.
At some point you’ll have to trust others to complete tasks, and you’ll oftentimes be surprised at how well they can do.
A good starting point for those who don’t want to relinquish control is to have somebody do the task, and make sure you also do the task at the same time (without them knowing). That way, if they do fall short, your task is still complete. After a couple goes at this, you’ll realize there was nothing to worry about in the first place.
Easy Productivity Step 5: Understand the difference between “busy” and “productive”
This is a topic I can’t stop talking about – it’s easy to fool yourself into thinking you’re being productive when you’re just completing small, insignificant tasks otherwise known as “busywork.”
Make sure you’re only focused on the objectives that get you closer to your goal.
Using these 5 easy steps will unlock your productivity and make your life that much better!
