Secret #1: Delay Gratification

Whenever you accomplish something, how much time do you waste celebrating instead of moving onto the next task?

These ‘Success Seekers’ understand that the accomplishments will keep coming, so there’s no point in celebrating each one.

Use the momentum from your current success to burst into the next one and keep moving forward.

Prioritize your long-term success over short-term accomplishments and you’ll start to see BIG differences.

Secret #2: Show Up on the Toughest Days

How easy is it to look at tough tasks and think “I’ll just take the day off…”

You’re not alone.

Most people take the day off when it comes to tough tasks, but the ‘Success Seekers’ know these are the days they make the biggest progress…

When you push through your tough days, you don’t just get the tough tasks done, you also grow and earn momentum that’ll push you through the next tough day.

Show up on the tough days!

Secret #3: Positive Self-Talk

If there’s one person you take notice of, it’s you!

We’re constantly looking for a leader to tell us what to do, when what we really need is constant positivity from within.

As I mentioned in Secret #1, don’t take time to celebrate each accomplishment, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give yourself a quick, internal well done when you’ve passed a milestone.

That’s what the ‘Success Seekers’ do… and it’s spurs them on.

So, throughout the day, make sure you’re giving yourself positive self-talk. Make sure you’re egging yourself on with the positive moves you’re making.

Secret #4: Don’t Dwell on Things

This one is BIG.

As it’s important to not celebrate each little accomplishment, it’s even more important to not dwell on things.

The way I like to the explain the effects on dwelling on things is by using the glass of water analogy:

Picture you’re holding a glass of water. Easy, right?

Doesn’t weigh much at all. It’s just an everyday task.

But now picture holding that water for 5, 10, 20 minutes…

The weight of the glass doesn’t change, but your arm starts to get tired.

Now picture holding it for an hour, a day, a week.

Harder now, right?

Picture that glass of water as the problem you’re dwelling on.

You’re better off facing it head on right away and dumping the glass instead of pushing it off and bearing the weight.

Don’t dwell on things. The weight of those problems become unbearable the longer you hold onto them.

And there you have it…
