The secret to feeling youthful…

People often wonder what the secret is to feeling youthful, even as the years stack up. Is it a special diet? Some new skin serum? A list of “age-reversing” vitamins?

All those things may help on a surface level, but there’s one powerful force that keeps you young at heart: curiosity.

And no, it’s not just for kids or inventors. Staying curious, excited to learn, and open to what you don’t know may be the closest thing we have to a real-life fountain of youth.

Let me ask you something: When was the last time you said, “I’ve always wanted to try that,” or “I wonder how that works?” If it’s been a while, you’re not alone, but you may also be missing out on something extraordinary.

Curiosity isn’t just a cute personality trait. It’s a tool, a mindset, and in many ways, a spiritual practice.

People who remain inquisitive, even into their 60s, 70s, or beyond, tend to live more fulfilled lives. They’re less likely to feel stuck or stagnant.

And interestingly enough, many report feeling sharper, more alert, and yes, even younger, simply because they make space in their lives to follow their curiosity.

Think about kids. They’re not afraid to ask “why” ten times in a row. They want to see how things tick, taste things they’ve never tried, and ask questions that sometimes stump adults.

That energy is magnetic. And guess what? That same spark still lives inside you. It’s just been buried under decades of responsibilities, routines, and the general “busy-ness” of adulthood.

Why does curiosity keep us young?

  • It keeps the brain engaged… When you explore new ideas, your brain forms new neural connections. That’s an essential part of brain health, especially in later life.
  • It boosts your emotional well-being… Discovering something new or learning a skill you’ve always admired can rekindle joy and purpose. It also alleviates feelings of boredom or stagnation.
  • It invites connection… Curiosity often leads us into new communities, books, classes, or conversations. That sense of exploration draws in like-minded people and builds meaningful relationships.
  • It combats complacency… When we stop asking questions or stop testing the boundaries of what we know, we start to settle. And settling too much can lead to a life that feels small and repetitive.

But what about the saying, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”…?

I’ll be blunt: That phrase is nonsense.

You most certainly can teach an old dog new tricks. And truth be told, older adults often have an edge… with more patience, deeper context, and hard-won wisdom that adds even more richness to what you’re learning.

You can learn to paint in your 70s. You can take up Spanish in your 80s. You can study astronomy, take Zoom guitar lessons, or finally figure out why sourdough starters matter.

It’s not about becoming an expert. It’s about rediscovering what it feels like to be engaged and dialed into life again.

So, here’s how I suggest you reconnect with your curious side:

1. Ask More Questions

Whether it’s during a conversation, while reading, or simply observing something unusual, ask “Why?” or “How?” more often. People who stay curious ask better questions… not necessarily to get answers, but to stay open.

2. Be a Beginner Again

Try something that puts you in the shoes of a novice. That could be a painting class, a local lecture series, or even going on a walk without your usual route and just following where your eyes take you.

3. Read Outside Your Comfort Zone

Pick up a book or subscribe to a podcast on a topic you’ve never paid much attention to. Whether it’s architecture, gardening, or ancient philosophy, you’ll be surprised how much joy comes from opening a new window into the world.

4. Travel (Even Locally)

You don’t need a passport to spark curiosity. Visit a part of your own town you’ve never been to. Try that coffee shop you always drive past. Act like a tourist in your own backyard and discover something new.

5. Talk to New People

Strike up conversations, even short ones, with people from different backgrounds or generations. Everyone sees the world through a slightly different lens, and those conversations often light up something you hadn’t considered before.

Staying curious isn’t about chasing youth… it’s about staying alive in every sense of the word.

When you follow what intrigues you, you give yourself permission to keep evolving. You invite pleasure, wonder, and a sense of ongoing discovery into your day-to-day life.

So don’t let the world convince you your time for curiosity has passed. If anything, this is exactly the right time.

Your life is full of stories, but there’s always room for one more chapter, INCLUDING one more question, one more adventure, one more spark of delight.

If you liked that advice, then I’ve got something for you that will not only keep you youthful, but keep your bank account FULL:

This past weekend, we celebrated our TENTH Annual Wealth Summit, a historic virtual event that we’ve put on since 2015 for people just like you… people who want to learn skills that improve their bank accounts as well as their social skills and health.

Although the event is over, I’ve realized I can bring a few more people on board and give them EVERYTHING the live attendees got. So I recorded the whole thing and created a special DVD package with a full members area just for YOU.

Copies are extremely limited for this record-breaking event, but I’m handing you a final chance to get on board now…

Simply click here to see what’s included and secure your package before they’re all gone!
