Thinking about entrepreneurship? Read this

Jim_SamsonBecoming your own boss can be one of the most rewarding things you ever do in your life, both personally and financially.

The problem is that it’s never the perfect time to take that leap and go for it. The fact of the matter is that there are always going to be a large number of unknowns.

But each and every entrepreneur who’s ever lived has persevered despite those unknowns.

So if you’re thinking about starting your own business either tomorrow or in a few years, you need to read this…

To put things in perspective, I want to throw a few things at you to hopefully make you see your situation differently…

1. Failure

This is the single word that keeps most people from ever starting their own business. Yup, it’s a scary one. But I think there’s only 1 healthy way to look at failure…

Failure is always going to be a possibility when there’s a chance to drastically improve your situation in life. So if you’re ever going to try to become better, you could fail. But would you rather fail now or later?

If you fail now, you can always try again with lessons learned and a boatload of experience in your pocket. But if you wait until the last minute, you’ll never have a second chance.

2. The “Someday” Trap

Don’t be the person who keeps saying, “I’ll do it someday” all the way through retirement. Thinking that you always have “someday” to do something is the only thing holding you back from actually doing it.

No matter what, version 1.0 of your own business is much better than version 0.0.

And remember, nobody says you can only try entrepreneurship once!

3. You already know the alternative

So what will happen if you allow your fear to keep you from ever becoming an entrepreneur? Well, you already know the answer to that.

You’re living it right now.

Give or take a little, you’ll still remain in the same situation. You’re going to continue on the same path with the same job opportunities, same amount of happiness (or unhappiness), same amount of professional fulfillment (or lack thereof), and the same feeling in the pit of your stomach because you’ll never have really figured out if you could’ve done it.

That’s a horrible feeling to live with.

So start putting together a real plan with real deadlines today…
