This makes people do what you want

Sean BowerDealing with people always has been and always will be a determining factor in the level of success you achieve in virtually any aspect of life, whether it’s your career, your love life, your financial status, etc…

And there is only one way (apart from holding them at gunpoint) to get almost anyone to do almost anything.

By understanding the “magic phrase” I’m about to share with you, you’ll have the ability to make people want to do whatever it is you want them to do…
John Dewey, an American philosopher, called it “the desire to be important”.

Sigmund Freud said it was “the desire to be great”.

And William James referred to it as “the craving to be appreciated”.

However you want to phrase it, the desire for a feeling of importance is one of the most powerful “things” in the world. It’s a major distinction between humans and animals.

And when utilized correctly, that emotional need can make just about anyone do just about anything…

The importance of that skill in extraordinary.

Because he was able to deal with people, Charles Schwab was chosen to become the first president of the United States Steel Company and become one of the first businessmen to make over $1 million in salary.

It wasn’t his knowledge of steel, or because he was smarter than everyone, or because he was the most experienced…

It was all because he had the uncanny ability to get people to do what he wanted by satisfying their need to feel important.

Schwab said that he never criticized anyone, and instead would give incentives to do better and heap praise on successful employees.

That’s how he was able to make people feel appreciated and work harder at doing whatever he wanted.

But the normal person is quick to criticize and last to praise, characteristics that Schwab condemned:

There is nothing else that so kills the ambitions of a person as criticism from supervisors.”

Within that idea is the principle that satisfying that need to be important, great, and appreciated in everyone is the most important thing in the world.

And as Schwab showed us, that’s the surest way to get anyone to do what you want them to…
