Whenever anyone mentions they have a side-hustle, I picture them frantically working into the deep hours of the night, only to wake up tired for their “main-hustle”.

You probably drive everyday anyway… why not get paid for it?
By now you’ve most likley heard of driving services like Uber and Lyft where drivers act as taxis and get paid for it. All you need is a driver’s license and an appropriate vehicle to sign up, and then you can have a brand-new source of income.
Have free time between work and your dinner plans? Why not drive around, take passengers where they need to go, and watch that money flow into your account?
Downtime Cash #2: Running Errands
I’m know I’ve brought this one up before, but it’s such a good way to earn some quick cash that it fits perfectly in this list. Can you pick up groceries? Can you drop something off at the post office? Can you pick up dry cleaning?
If you’re able to run basic errands, you can earn easy cash with sites like Task Rabbit, where regular people with no downtime will pay you to do simple tasks like those mentioned above.
Downtime Cash #3: Compiling Information
This is one of my favorite side-business ideas because people are making money from it, but nobody ever brings it up. But all you really need for this sort of thing is some spare time and the right portal.
Many freelancing sites, like Upstart or Fiverr (or the aforementioned TaskRabbit), have people searching for help with somewhat simple tasks that they simply don’t have time for. That’s where you come in.
Can you spend an hour or two on a Saturday afternoon compiling research and information on a topic? Of course, you can. All you need is Internet. That’s easy money.
Downtime Cash #4: Proofreading
Here’s another opportunity that stems from a multitude of freelance websites. Many people need things proofread, but don’t have the time or the eye for detail.
If you can step in and do what they can’t, there’s cash to be made.
